    PTK Student Receives All-State Academic Team Award

    Timka BostanTimka Bostan, a Global Studies major at North Hennepin Community College, was honored during the Phi Theta Kappa All-Minnesota Academic Team Celebration on March 5th at the Royal Cliff Banquet Facility in Eagan. She is 1 of 36 students from 19 different community and technical colleges within the Minnesota State Colleges and University System who was recognized for this highly-selective award. These students automatically advance as nominees for the All-USA Academic Competition, the winners to be announced in April.

    Bostan holds a 3.89 GPA with plans to transfer to Hamline University. She currently works as an educational support professional for Osseo Area Schools and an interpreter for the Center for Victims of Torture, and manages a home business. She is also a wife and mother. “I look forward to having a career with the United Nations. I want to help U.S. immigrants adjust to their new life.”

    The All-State Academic Team recognizes two-year college students for their leadership, academic achievement, and community and college service. Phi Theta Kappa is the largest international honor society for two-year colleges.
