Scholarships: Approximately $150,000 in scholarships are awarded each year to more than 200 students based on need and merit. Close to 2,000 scholarships have been awarded since 1995 totaling over $1.5 million. The average award since 2001 has been $800.
STRIVE: The STRIVE program offers an opportunity for high school students who are in the lower third of their class academically to come together with area mentors and high school counselors to discuss issues, challenges and obstacles that may stand in the way of their success. Since the program started, the Foundation has contributed more than $75,000 in matching funds with area Rotary Clubs.
Campus Improvements: Through major gifts, the Foundation has been instrumental in improving the appearance of the College with the construction of the Carillon, located outside of the Educational Services Building, and the Tessman Greenhouse, connected to the new Science Center. Internally, the Foundation has aided in building renovation projects by contributing furniture and other necessities that increase the functionality of North Hennepin Community College's facilities.
Faculty and Staff Grants: Faculty and staff grants provide education, awareness and leadership skills to NHCC faculty and staff in areas that are beneficial to the college and its students.
